It is with great joy that I bring you our first Weekly Wins post. This is a place where we come together to celebrate all those big and small wins from the week. I have wanted to do this for a while now, and am ecstatic that it is finally happening.
What Are “Weekly Wins”
Weekly Wins are anything you count as winning. It could be your kids eating veggies at dinner 3 nights this week. Maybe, it’s waking up before your kids every morning this week. It can even be I walked away instead of fighting with my significant other or children. Nothing is too big or too small, and we celebrate them all the same.
Part of growth is acknowledging our faults, and then our wins. Things that are small may not seem like a huge deal, but when you reflect on how it changed the outcome of the situation- it’s huge. This is why we encourage weekly wins, something to celebrate and remind yourself you are doing okay.
My Weekly Wins 1/14/18-01/20/18

What are your weekly wins??? Let us know in the comments below. Let’s all encourage each other today.
One of the biggest helpful tips I have implemented is a Morning Routine. This has been a lifesaver in this house and I’m excited to share my Top 10 parts of my Morning Routine. I know this may seem like a lot of items to cross off a list in the early morning, but when these things get implemented in the morning, it makes for a very productive day.
Each morning I spend about 10 minutes writing in a gratitude journal. This starts my ff on a thankful and positive note.
I have several different guided meditations that I use. It is usually no more than 10-15 minutes, but it gets me grounded for the day.
Walking Work Out.
This is my “go to” exercise. I find one of the one mile walks on YouTube and spend the 15 minutes getting in some cardio.
I make a cup of coffee to enjoy while I do the rest of my morning routine.
Check my Planner.
While I’m drinking my coffee and listening to my morning playlist, I check my planner and decide what needs to be done for the day.
Some days this happens during my kids morning routine, however, I try to make sure I eat something every morning.
Get Myself Ready.
Whatever that may entail, I try to get this done before the kiddos get up. This way I am ready to face the day no matter what might happen.
Check My Email.
I try to check my email and social media accounts for my blog and business stuff in the morning, in the afternoon and after the kids go to bed. This keeps me in the loop of what is going on and also keeps me from staring at an email waiting for important emails.
Kids Morning Routine.
Once the girls get up, it is time to start their routine. This includes getting ready for the day, affirmations, and Yoga.
So there you have my Top 10 for my Morning Routine. What is YOUR Morning Routine like??? I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
This past week has been a rough one. I have a lot of goals and I feel as if I’m chasing my tail some days. In the past, I would have gotten discouraged and given up. I would have considered myself a “failure” and decided to continue in that trend instead of getting back on track and trying again.
I am now realizing the power of “getting back on track”. Don’t get me wrong, we all hear about the need to “get back on track”, and let’s just say, in theory, it should be easy to just keep going. For someone who deals with anxiety and depression, it can be very hard to get back on your path. So I have been working hard on trying to be patient and forgiving to myself as I go through the journey.
It has felt like a much easier and more manageable action to simply, get back on track lately. A lot of this is due to having a clearer vision. When you have a vision, there is more of a reason to find your path again. I know the whole “having a Why” thing is so very popular, but your why has to be something specific that will be able to jog you from the depths of despair when life goes crazy and you want to give up.
My why has been fairly general up until recently. It has made this whole idea of getting back on track so much more difficult. So, now that I have much more specific reasons and desires and ideas, it has kept me much more focused. It is easier to get back, when I do feel I have gotten off track, I simply remember all of my specific why’s and usually one of them will pull me back on track. Also, the more I get back on track, the easier it is to get back on track.
Spend some time really focusing on what you really want and why you really want it.
Make some super vivid and very exciting goals. Make this very descriptive and emotional for the best results.
Write these goals down and put them where you can see them.
Create a vision board. Check out my Vision Board post for more ideas.
What do you do to get yourself back on track when you have gotten off track, I’d love for you to tell me in the comments.
Vision boards are an amazing tool to help you with visualizing and staying on track to achieve your goals. It can be easy to cut some pictures out of some things that you’d like, glue them to a piece of paper, and call it a day. Today, we are going to talk about taking your vision boards from ho hum to AMAZING.
For starters, sit down and take inventory of what you really want in life. What are the things that are super important to you??? It can also be helpful to have the same talks with the other members of your family to see some of the stuff that is important to them as well. Once you have your values and priorities in order, you can start looking at the list of things you want and find those things that line up with your values and priorities.
Next take some time to visualize the goal. How will you feel when you own or experience this goal??? Try to make this as vivid as possible. The emotional pull will help you decide how important this is to you. Rank your goals by how drawn to them you feel emotionally. You can do this with your family as well. Even little children will get more excited when they talk about stuff they’d like to do more than other stuff.
Make a Top 10
This could be argued, however I feel it is very important to narrow down your goals and focus on just a few at a time so that you are not overwhelmed and you have a purpose and are not spread to thin. Make a Top 10 for the year and focus on where you want your life to be in the next year. Do not discard any other goals, we will still need those.
Find Amazing Pictures.
Sometimes I think we get stuck on finding amazing pictures. If you have a printer, a good idea can be to do a Google search on the topic, and print out amazing pictures that not only represent your goals, but also the emotions you will feel when you experience this goal.
Pick the Perfect Background.
What is your favorite color??? Do you like glitter, or sparkle??? Make sure you use a background that is pleasing for you to look at. Make this fun and it will be a much more enjoyable exercise and you’ll love the results.
Design Your Board.
Spend some time with your pictures and words arranging and rearranging them until you find the layout you love. Take a picture if you can, so you remember where things are (as mom’s we can’t always get through something start to finish with no interruptions).
Finish Your Board.
I like to use rubber cement to glue things like this together, just in case I make a mistake it is much easier to fix it. Once you have all your pictures where you want them, consider using markers, or glitter, or other embellishments to finish your masterpiece.
Hang it Up.
Now that you have your finished creation, find a place for it in the room you spend the most time in. If you want it in your office, but you aren’t in there as much as you are in the kitchen or living room, you can take pictures and print them out to put in other areas of your house. The point to having a vision board is to be able to see it to keep yourself on track, make this easy for you by keeping it in a place where you will be the most.
So that is my How to on creating a vision board. Do you create vision boards??? Did I leave any tips out??? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
So, here we are, the 2nd Monday of the new year. Have you gotten into the swing of things again after the holidays??? We haven’t, but we are working on it. Today is a bit of me passing on to all of you something that was passed to me. The whole “Pay it Forward”, well, this has helped me so far, so I am going to pass it on.
I was talking to my business bestie, and we were having that conversation about needing to do so many things we didn’t know where to start. She had previously sent me a link to a podcast episode from MFCEO. First off, if you’re asking, yes “MF” does stand for what you may think it’s supposed to stand for, and so my warning goes here now… this is NOT the podcast for the whole family, if children are present, use headphones. Ok now that that disclaimer is out of the way, I need to add… this is NOT MY content… I am simply passing along what was passed to me… and it really is THAT good,
This episode is well worth listening to in entirety, however this 1 tip is where it’s at… It starts at 38 minutes.
They are talking about The Power List. The Power List is 3-5 actionable steps that will help you accomplish the goals you want to accomplish. It goes like this.
Write the 3-5 things down on paper
Do the things
As you do them cross them off
When you are all done… Mark it with a “W” for Winning. You have won the day!!!
The next day you will repeat and you will keep repeating until the actions become a habit
Then you can move those things that are habits and put more actionable tasks on the list.
This is an AMAZING way to create momentum. I won’t give away all of this, but definitely listen to the podcast and get the motivation to Win The Day!!!
What’s on YOUR Power List???
I’ve been playing around with post ideas for a few days, but today feels like a music kinda day. The kinda day where you just need to rock out to amazing music that makes you happy and keeps you motivated.
Here are my top 10 picks for motivating music.
There is my top 10 motivational songs. Are there any you would add??? Let me know in the comments. Check out my morning playlist
So, it is almost 8:00 PM on Monday January 1st. Today has been an incredible day. A day when normally I would have been in panic mode and absolutely beside myself. We woke up this morning to no water. My first thought was our pipes froze. Normally that thought would have sent me over the edge in panic, but I’ve learned a thing or 2 in the last couple of years… we are never given more than we can handle.
Throughout the day I moved from trying to figure out what was going on to just being exceedingly thankful we have heat and electricity, and food that we can cook. Then, I realized how much I have grown. I then became elated. Excited that I am moving passed the low vibes an quickly into the higher ones. Normally I would have not wrote this post today, or uploaded the girls first video for their YouTube Channel. I would have called today “an emergency” day and taken it off to wallow in depression and frustration.
This week, as you encounter all sorts of distractions, trials, and struggles, I want you to remember your why. I want you to remember why you want whatever it is you are setting out to accomplish. I want you to hold on to that with all your heart. Nothing from your past should hold you back, keep going, don’t give up, you will make it.
It takes a lot of work to get to the high vibin’ point, but it is so very worth it. The amount of stuff I am accomplishing today is amazing, and I would love to help each and every one of you get through that work and come out on the other side. Let’s make 2018 an AMAZING year, together.
So, here we are… the final Friday of the year. While I know this site is just starting out, I am so thankful for the journey in getting to this point. I am grateful that I am seeing my purpose more clearly now, and I’m excited for what the new year has to offer.
The last several years have been a learning curve in the blogosphere for me, and I am finally starting to get a clear vision of this community. As mothers, we all have struggles, both within our family and as individuals. Struggles mean we are human, and we ALL have them. My goal in 2018 is to help you embrace and work through those struggles to get to your greatest life ever!!!
It has taken me years to actually comprehend the silliness of “perfection”. I used to think I had to have it all together before I could help someone. Then I moved on to thinking I had to at least have “x, y and z” together before I helped people. I was so stuck on my own imperfections and trying to be my own version of perfect, I was hard on myself and it clouded my vision.
This year has been eye-opening for me. I am learning more about myself and more about my calling. My desire is to encourage all moms in their calling. We all have strengths and talents, we ALL bring something to the table. When we can live in our calling, and truly enjoy it, life becomes more amazing than we ever imagined.
That is why I am offering a Zoom webinar on Saturday January 6th at 9:00PM Eastern time. We will be going over how to make 2018 the best year and how to plan and reach for the stars in all areas of your life. I will also be showing you how I use my Law of Attraction 30 day planner and a place where you can get your own trial version.
To sign up for the webinar please fill out this form.
Looking forward to a year full of encouraging others to be our best selves and enjoy life.
Happy New Year!!!
So, here we are, last week of the year. 2017 has been amazing in so many ways. I feel like I need to share with you my favorite products and services that have helped our family along the way this year.

10.Usborne Books & More.
My kids have always loved the books from Usborne Books & More. They have a wide variety and appeal to my children with amazing illustrations and lessons that help them in life. I recently (This month) signed up as an independent distributor with them, and I am loving the opportunity as much as my kids love these books. If you would like to check out the amazing books for your kids, visit my site.
9. Mom Mastery University.
This is another new adventure for me. I love the idea of having a place to get all the personal development I can ever need all in 1 spot. MMU is a monthly subscription based site full of amazing teaching and coaching. They are pretty heavily faith (Christian) based, however it isn’t in a pushy way, so those who are not particularly followers of Christianity could absolutely get a lot of of the coaching and teaching. When you sign up, you are assigned a mentor who will help you with your goals and help turn your life from chaos to controlled (possibly controlled chaos if your life is like mine).
8. Fireside Podcast Hosting.
For those of you who have followed me, you know that in September/October a friend and I started a podcast. It has been a crazy ride for both of us the last 3 months of the year, but we have really enjoyed our recording sessions. We started on 1 hosting service, but have relocated to a different one. Fireside is our new home, and we are thrilled with the service so far. We record on Zoom, since it has a separate audio track, then upload onto the Fireside server. We also have a blog through them and all for less than 20.00 a month. We have definitely found a goldmine.
7. Cannon Rebel.
Our newest family project is my children’s YouTube Channel Ki-Na Kid Vids. When I decided I was going to gift them a YouTube channel for Christmas, I knew I needed a better way to take videos. I am now the proud owner of a Cannon EOS Rebel T6 DSLR. It has been amazing, and after a month I am still learning new things daily about it. It is definitely worth the buy for those looking for great photos and videos.
6. Melissa & Doug My Daily Calendar
This has been so fun to use with my kids. It helps little ones learn the Month, Date, Year, Season, Weather, Days of the week, Emotions, and Special Up-coming events. We use it every morning, and since it is fun, the kids participate willingly.
5. Indiana Connections Academy
The oldest is now in Kindergarten, at the most AMAZING virtual public school ever. I am so impressed by the set-up and the help that we got for our daughter (who has both an ADHD and Autism diagnosis as of right now). We got her tested quickly for special education, and she now has an IEP and lots of supports in place so she can do the best in her daily work. Connections Academy is amazing, and I am so happy we started her off there.
4. HP Pavilion Notebook
Back in March, the MacBook I was using decided to die. I was heart broken, and on the verge of launching the original Journey to the New Normal blog. I had to have a new laptop, and that is when I found this one. The HP Pavilion is more than a laptop, it is a tablet as well. I love the fact that I can do all of my work on the laptop keyboard, and my kids love the touch screen for playing games. It really has been a great investment for this family.
3. Ninja Coffee Bar
This has to be on the top of my list. What is not to love about a coffee maker that can make a pot OR a cup of coffee and can make specialty brews all your coffee house drinks at a fraction of the price, and from the comfort of your home. I hear so many great things about the other specialty coffee makers, however this one is my favorite.
Erin Chase from 5 Dollar Dinners is my hero. She has come up with the coolest concept for freezer meals. Erin has taken all the guess work out of meal planning. With a program that covers most dietary restrictions and the major food allergies, you are sure to find Yummy, easy, and frugal freezer meals for your family. Freezer meals are amazing, and when they are cheaper than the dollar menu at the local fast food place, it’s a win-win. Check out MyFreezEasy today.
1. Kroger ClickList.
The only thing better than an easy and frugal meal plan, is not having to shop for it. Kroger stores all over now have ClickList. Order your groceries online, then come to the store at the appropriate time and have them loaded into your car for you. Now if I could just find a service to put them away for me. ClickList saves me time and money, which are 2 things this busy work from home mommy loves saving.
So, there you have it, my top 10 of 2017. Do you use any of these products or services??? What are your favorites of 2017???
I true “Kim fashion”, I once again, bit off more than I could chew. So, 25 days of blogmas just didn’t happen. It has been a ridiculously crazy month, and so I shall give myself grace and try again next year.
I wanted to take a moment and write an official holiday post. First I want to thank each and every one of you who have been reading and supporting and interacting with this blog. This community is full of amazing people and I am so grateful to you all for what you bring to the community.
Next, I want to update you all on some fun stuff going on in our family’s journey. So, for starters, I want to let you all know that Tomorrow December 24th from 6:00 PM Eastern until roughly 11:00 PM Eastern time, A dear friend of mine Beth Ferguson, from Moving Grooving Granny will be helping me as we co-host a Count Down to Santa. We have about 8-10 different activities ranging from hanging stockings, to listening to stories and even a craft or 2. We will be Live on Facebook from a private event, so if you would like your kiddos to participate, please check out Journey’s Facebook page on how to join in the fun.
We will also be having a Count Down to “Noon” Year AND New Year. Both Count Down events will be completely virtual and entirely done in Facebook events. They will be private and a great place to interact with our community and learn more about The Moving Grooving Granny community. Again, check out the Journey Facebook page for more information on joining either of these new year events.
Lastly, as far as updates go, I’d like to introduce you to my family’s newest project, Ki-Na Kid Vids. This will be a fun and interactive community helping children get excited about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) activities. We will be creating 3 videos a week as well as an intro blog post to introduce the topic of the week and give you an idea on items you may want to grab to play along with us. We will also have an interactive Facebook group which we will be encouraging families to share pics and videos of the projects they complete with us that week. This is going to be a TON of fun, and a great way to bring families together.
So, as I conclude this holiday post I want to wish you all the Happiest of Holidays. No matter what holiday you celebrate, this is a time for family, friends, and fun. Please have an amazing holiday and we will see you for another Top 10 Tuesdays on the 26th.
